Baby measuring small

Hi all I'm 27 weeks and the midwife measured me for the first time today. I was measuring so small i she couldn't mark me on the growthchart at all as the chart didn't go low enough :( I have to go for a scan and waiting for a call about it. Just wondering if anyone else has had this was everything ok or something wrong? My first baby was always just a little above average so I'm quite shocked.

Hello, not so much the same but I went for my 20 week scan 2 weeks ago and my baby's head was measuring of the chart but everything else was fine, I went back ten days later for a further scan and his head was still small but had grown a bit, I have another scan Friday with a specialist to see if his head has grown any further. I know how you feel and it is a very scary time, but they did tell me that I could just be having a small baby hopefully that is the reason for both of us, also if they keep growing even just by a little bit that is a good sign. The last 3 weeks and on going is hell and I can imagine this hasn't really helped you but just wanted you to know there is a lot of people going thru similar. I’ve had my 28 week appointment this am (28wks tomorrow) and they booked my growth scan there and then. I go Saturday morning. I’m measuring 26. Both midwife and student commented on how high my pubic bone is so unsure if that’s why but never had issues with 2 previous babies so I have no idea what’s going on!

Hopefully you get your scan soon and it’s just our babies in awkward positions lol xx

midwife measured me at 28 weeks. I was measuring 4 weeks behind, way, way below the line. Worried for 3 days before my growth scan. Once they scanned me baby was bang on 28 weeks. I asked the sonographer how common it was to be measuring behind and he said that 90% of the time everything is fine. Try not to panic just yet. External measurements are crude, hopefully your growth scan will put you at 27.

I was scanned every 2 weeks from 28 weeks due to being consistently below the 10th centile. Baby was born 5lb 3oz and I was induced at 37 weeks. She was perfect in every way.

@Littlebittasunshine that’s great! Hopefully I have the same news Saturday! Did they mention you would have to have more if you continue to measure small?? Xx
