Flu Jab

Hey ladies

I'm 10+4 and I have my flu jab on Wednesday. I've been suffering quite bad from morning sickness both nausea & vomiting and now I'm worried this jab is going to make me feel even worse!

I know it's apparently supposed to give you the flu? Just wanted to know others experiences with it? Thanks 😊

No it's not supposed to give you the flu. It's not a live injection for a start

It can’t give you flu, it’s not a live vaccine. It’s literally impossible for it to give you flu. Some people have minor reactions to the vaccine, a minor temp, a very sore arm and feel a bit cold like.

I admittedly avoided one in the first trimester as I have HG and so incredibly poorly for a while. I couldn’t face my body dealing with anything else. But I’m now left with an appointment in late November which is a bit rubbish!

I had it earlier this year when I was in my first trimester, totally fine, you won't get ill. You could however get seriously ill if you contract flu during pregnancy, so make sure you get it!

Thanks everyone I wasn't sure never had the flu jab before and everyone tells you different things! I am of course getting it I am booked in for tomorrow just wanted some advice!

Thankyou!

I had mine last week. Feel absolutely fine :)

I've really struggled with nausea too! Had the flu jab a couple of weeks ago and have noticed no side effects except my arm was sore for a couple of days - I couldn't sleep on it.

MissisBee · 15/10/2019 19:39

I got mine this year just before I found out I was pregnant. Same 3 years ago. Both of these times, I've had much less of a reaction than I normally would.

RolytheRhino · 15/10/2019 19:42

Had mine this week, though not pregnant. Bit of a sore arm, otherwise fine.

Ah Thankyou so much everyone you've made me feel better (well except for throwing up haha) I was so worried I would feel really ill on top of everything else. A sore arm I can definitely deal with 😊
