Cervix pain.. I think

Hi all,
I'm around 11 weeks pregnant and seem to have what I think is slight pains in my cervix.

I am starting to panic myself already, both my nan and my mum had abnormal cells removed and now I'm worried the same is happening to me. I don't have any pain in sex and no bleeding apart from a tiny tiny amount in the beginning of pregnancy but I do bloat quite a bit. I am only 23 so don't qualify for a smear which is disgusting. I also have suffered a miscarriage back in June.

Sorry for the long post but I've just worried myself sick already x

Op I've also had abnormal cells removed but I didn't have pains with them and only found out on my smear. If you're concerned speak to your midwife

Is it like shooting pains? Have you heard of ‘lightning crotch’? It’s a really strange central pain that almost shoots between your legs and it can be quite worrying if you haven’t experienced it. Agree with PP to chat with your MW to ease any concerns.

I should add that the pains I’m talking about are harmless and just a part of the growing and expanding that’s going on down below.

It could be normal but based on your family history I would speak to your GP and Midwife. You won’t be able to have a smear test but it’s possible for someone to take a look at your cervix from the outside.

Although at 23 you may not be routinely invited for a smear, you can push for one and if you have reasonable concerns you are absolutely entitled to one. Good luck.
