DS has been sent home from school for being sick (think it might be something he ate rather than a bug) and I keep getting stomach cramps since we got home but high up in my bump. Coming and going like a mini wave, not lasting very long but keeps happening. I can't figure out if I'm having sympathy stomach pains (I have felt a bit sicky but think it's been more like the start of heartburn so I've had a couple of rennies), am I just being paranoid or should I be paying attention to these?

I always though contractions were more period pain like and low down, these are up high but I'm just wondering as they are coming and going? I also have a sore lower back and had this through the night as well. With DS I had a sore back the night before but then my waters went so no confusion about that.

I met a friend at Nandos on Saturday and DS, friend and friend's DS are all sick today which points to something they ate but I don't eat chicken so wouldn't have thought I would suffer unless it's a bug.

Anyone able to advise? DS is nearly 8 so I feel like a complete newbie!

My contractions with my ds felt like they went across my whole belly, like I was being tightened. Can you time them? I would call my labour unit and see what they say.

@everytimerickysayscuntIlaugh thanks for replying, I've got a timer on so think I'll give it another couple of hours and see what happens (obviously if it ramps up I'll call sooner!) I've been in the bath for half an hour and had a couple, I get like a pre-wave and then it starts and they are about 30 seconds at the moment but no regularity to them.

I just can't decide if it's a coincidence and I'm in for a stomach bug or whether I should be double checking my hospital bag!

Also, TMI, I have been to the loo and it wasn't loose but definitely not as constipated as normal. But I did eat 3 weetabix for breakfast so....

So many variables!
