Tips to help me sleep!

Hello

Currently 31 weeks pregnant, all okay health wise apart from low iron which I am being treated for. Have a two year old at home but she sleeps well so no problems from that angle.

Me however Shock I am getting around 4 hours sleep a night...if I'm lucky! I'm so tired now and it's starting to have an impact on my day. I'm being kept awake by a strange tingling sensation in my feet and arms it's so uncomfortable!

Midwife doesn't know what it could be and doesn't seem concerned at all. Please has anyone got any tips on how I can get a better night sleep? I've tried pillow spray and taking paracetamol when I'm particularly uncomfortable.

Many thanks 😊

Do you sleep on your arms by any chance?do you have a pregnancy pillow?x

No advice, I'm afraid, but just wanted to say that I'm 34 weeks and also get the tingling sensation at night which makes it hard to sleep! I have low iron too, so maybe that's the link?

Hello,

No I don't sleep on my arms, the tingling starts just before I go to bed, usually when I'm starting to wind down. I have a pregnancy pillow which I haven't used for a while actually so I might get it out again to see if it helps!

Oh that's interesting! Maybe there is a link with the low iron. It's such a horrible feeling and really keeps me awake. I have the midwife this week so I'll ask her x

Definitely get the pillow out! Hopefully the extra support will help you sleep better.

Is it the kind of tingling that feels like it might turn into cramp? I get this in my legs sometimes so make a good effort to stay very hydrated in the evenings and it seems to help.

Pillow is back out ready for tonight! The tingling is more like what you get just before pins and needles or the feeling when they're wearing off.
