Bleeding after examination- 39 weeks

I had some bleeding earlier, got checked and examined at hospital where they did a smear test procedure, found nothing but said could relate to UTI. They tried different sized tools as my cervix is small, and the larger ones hurt and I did bleed a small amount after. After getting home and going to the toilet, I am now bleeding from my cervix but more than I would expect. (Made toilet water red, blood on tissue and now small amounts of blood on pad) Baby is moving ok, but I’m wondering if anyone has had this and if it would be normal after this type of examination.

The cervix is more friable during pregnancy - basically more sensitive and more easily irritated and bleeds much more easily. So the procedure is likely to make it bleed. But do call the maternity ward to report. You're very close now, but still best to be totally safe.
