4 weeks pregnant after a miscarriage last year... Scared!

Hi all, I'm new to mumsnet. I took some cheapy tests a few days ago when I was about 11/12 dpo and they were faintly positive I waited 48hrs from my first cheap test to use a regular boots own brand, and got a BFP! I'm trying to keep this news under wraps until I'm further a long, at least 7 weeks (lost my last at 6+5) it really hit me hard and I'm so scared this time around. I took the test pictured this morning and my periods have been irregular, but I think I'm about 3+6 now, possibly 4 weeks tomorrow.

This pregnancy is different to the last as when I had my MC in 2018 the pregnancy was a big shock and turned my world upside down. This time, me and OH are very excited and want this baby so much.

I had sore boobs for the last week but this morning, despite my BFP, my achy boobs have gone and I had mild achy cramping pains last night for about 30 seconds and it shot the fear into me that every pain may be another dreaded MC :( I'm trying not to worry and keep reminding myself that what will be, will be, but I'm scared and don't feel like I have anyone to talk to. In my last pregnancy I had on and off mild cramping like I did last night until one day it got very bad and then the bleeding started to happen and it ended in a MC.

I have no idea what pains are normal, or if the lack of symptoms are another worry, so hoping you may be able to shed some light on what your early pregnancies were and are like?

Hi lovely, I've had two miscarriages and two births - symptoms had no meaning to me.. they were all different and no symptom meant something if you know what I mean!! I know exactly how you're feeling and slowly you will start enjoying this pregnancy. Weirdly, I honestly feel thankful for my miscarriages now because I wouldnt have the babies I do now had I not miscarried and they really are blessings :) congratulations on your bfp! Focus on yourself and try your best to enjoy every moment (I know it's very much easier said than done!) Xx

Thank you Daisy :) 5 weeks 2 days now and still all good, a bit nervous but now that I'm tired and the sore (and the rapidly growing!) boobs are back I feel better about everything. Sorry to hear about your MCs but glad you got your rainbows! 😊

That's brilliant :) I'm glad you're feeling a little less anxious. It is a horrible thing to go through having a miscarriage and you're doing fantastic! Just remember symptoms can come and go so don't think the worst if they fade a little sometimes, mine did and my baby was ok :) I even bled with one of my rainbows! Thought it was the end but DD was absolutely fine.

It's a really nervy time but just try to
relax as there is really nothing you can do. I had a MC in April and am now 22 weeks pregnant - I was also crampy in the early stages both pregnancies and felt pretty sick. You will read into every symptom or lack of symptom (it's natural after MC) but my advice.... don't Google too much! It will only worry you more. Good luck and Congrats!
