Does anyone have any experience giving birth here? Wondering what the midwife led Oasis birth centre there is like and if there are enough rooms for demand. Also what the post natal care is like as I've seen some poor reviews, and whether you would recommend a private room for after birth.

I had both of my babies at the PRUH. First on the labour ward because I wasn't able to use the pool, the second in the pool in the Oasis. I had a great experience both times but must say that as I was home 3 hours after having my second i barely made use of the lovely facilities!

Thanks @Throughabushbackwards that's reassuring.

If you have baby on Oasis then you stay in the bay after as they have no private rooms. You would need to go to the maternity ward but they do not always have rooms available. Goes to women whose babies are in SCBU 1st, infections ect. They take priority. If you are low risk and the labour has gone well and there is a midwife on duty who can do the NIPE test and feeding is going well then you can be discharged straight from the labour room.

I was a student at PRUH until September when I qualified as a midwife and it is amazing in Oasis. The midwives are great and every birth I attended the midwives did everything to make it perfect for the woman.

I would love to have my baby there (I wasnt allowed last time, had to go to delivery suite).

Thanks @00deed1988 that's reassuring. My friend has just had a really terrible labour in croydon where there was a real shortage of staff so I'm hoping pruh will be better.
