Extreme tiredness

I am 9 weeks with twins. A couple of times over the last week (including right now) I have been so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open and feel so weak and my heart is racing. It feels like that delirious state when you are hungover and didn’t get enough sleep. I am wfh today and just spent 30 mins lying on the sofa but I feel no better.
Is this normal pregnancy tiredness?

I haven't been pregnant with twins so unable to compare however, I would go get your iron/b12 checked to ensure you aren't deficient or anaemic. I remember feeling fatigued to the point where I felt unable to function with a racing heart. I had low iron but frustratingly tablets take 2-3 weeks to kick in. It could simply be that early pregnancy exhaustion but don't take any chances. I guess if you are low on iron/b12 twins will deplete that faster than a singleton.

Ah I hadn’t thought of that. Good idea! I have my first midwife appt on tuesday so will ask about b12 and iron.

@Robs20 I’m not having twins but between about 6 weeks - 11 weeks I felt the same as you, completely wiped out that I had to nap frequently. I was worried about my iron levels but they were completely fine, it was just early pregnancy fatigue. From 12 weeks I have felt great! So I hope it passes for you quickly.

You are growing two people and a new internal organ (or maybe two). It's tiring work!
