Horrible night sweats 1st trimester

Sorry TMI. Does anyone suffer from waking up soaking sweat in 1st trimester ? It happens to me very often since week 6 until now I'm 9+6 today. - especially if I feel cold at night or very tired from morning sickness the day before. I woke up couple hours later finding myself soaking in sweat - like I have just finished showering and forgot to dry myself, the singlet I wore completely wet, and sometimes my bed sheet wet.

Whenever it happens, I feel very very thirsty, probably from the loss of water. I asked the midwife at appointment at week 8 and she said it's the hormone, and won't harm the baby. But I keep on worrying that this isn't normal with that much sweat and will harm the baby.

I'm a back sleeper normally, before pregnancy quite a deep sleeper and tend to get hot during the night, have tried to sleep on the left instead and using pregnancy pillow - seems to help a bit because more air get in.

Is this normal, should I get more test done? Thanks

This is happening to me & I am 5 weeks! It has been happening for a couple of weeks now. I wake up drenched & like there's surface water on my skin & the bed is soaked.. 😮x

I was like this in the first trimester, I would soak right through pillows every night. It eased off in the second trimester completely :)

I did with a couple of my pregnancies, I think they’d eased by 12 weeks. It happens again (only worse ime) pp though.

@smiletillyoumakeit @MrsEG @BernardsarenotalwaysSaints @bessie84 thanks. It helps a lot knowing other people have this too in 1st trimester. Hopefully will ease off and no harm done. I'm keeping on drinking water. Usually on the extreme, too hot or too cold even during the day. :-(
