Wash baby clothes etc??? I’ve got newborn and 0-3 clothes in drawers that I’ve just put in there after buying them so they are out the way but wondering when is the best time to start washing them! I’m 27 weeks and I will finish work on the 20th December. Unsure whether to do before then or wait until after Boxing Day? Planned section hopefully on 2nd/3rd Jan so I don’t want to leave it too late either! Xx

I think I started washing mine at 33 weeks maybe, had him 38+3

Starlight84 · 10/10/2019 23:48

Might hold off a bit longer then! Do bit by bit in a few weeks :) xx

I got everything ready when I had the time/energy from about 30 weeks, covered the cot with a sheet and put everything else away to keep it all free of dust.

Sleepycat91 · 11/10/2019 00:00

Im 28 weeks, mine was washed and done ages ago in august so i could get it all dried on the line and was one less thing i had to do, plus i had no idea how much i had so had to get it all out the loft anyway x

Newmumatlast · 11/10/2019 00:02

Did mine around 33wks and did blankets around 38wks

Starlight84 · 11/10/2019 06:50

@Sleepycat91 this is partly why I wanted it done so it could be on the line 🤣 love seeing baby clothes on the line! I haven’t even got sheets yet. Will sort them soon. Need to check the size of the bedside crib as all that kind of thing is at my mums! I’m off a couple of days for half term! If we get a good drying day I’ll do the newborn things! Xx

I didnt wash them at all 🙈 just took tags off and folded them in a drawer, didn't know it was a thing.

mistermagpie · 11/10/2019 07:35

I didn't wash anything for my second and won't be washing things for this baby (mind you, most of it is hand me downs by now so washed a million times!). It's a nice 'nesting' thing to do but I wouldn't stress yourself out to get it washed by a certain date.

Starlight84 · 11/10/2019 08:05

@QforCucumber I’ve bought a lot off things off Fb market place etc so I want to freshen them up :) xx

I'm 27 weeks and also having a planned section around the same dates, my newborn stuff went into the washer and dryer last night! Going to fold and put them away today :)

Starlight84 · 11/10/2019 08:38

@pinkstar01 how exciting! Hopefully we can share baby news around the same time! They have wrote me in for first week of jan! My 39th week is New Year’s Day so hoping the 2nd or 3rd will be in 🤞🏻 Xx

I did everything when I was on mat leave from 36 weeks onwards. Did a bit every day. Am now 39+1 and everything is ready so feel that worked for me!

Boymummy3 · 11/10/2019 11:06

I've washed his moses basket sheets etc already because I wanted to get them bagged up and stored away so it's done
I'm 24+5 now and I'll be waiting till probally around 30+ mark to wash everything else, I have to wash newborn babies clothing you never know what's on them. Brand new from shops they have been stored in warehouses etc and had god knows who's hands all over them haha! Although once they are born any new clothes I get I dont then wash before putting on baby not sure why lol I'm a tad strange like that Grin

thatwasMauijustmessingaround · 11/10/2019 11:11

I'm 31 weeks now, I'm thinking of doing mine very soon. I have all the new stuff I bought plus several bags from my DN! There's a lot to wash and sort.

I think I'll just try and wash/dry a few loads a week and start with all the newborn/0-3mos. And put anything bigger away for now and wash that later.

thatwasMauijustmessingaround · 11/10/2019 11:11

Oh god you've just reminded me... sheets and blankets too. I'm going to be here forever 🙈🙈

Starlight84 · 11/10/2019 11:11

@secretlyhermione eeeeek not long! Xx

@Starlight84 I'm in countdown mode even though baby seems very comfortable in there!! I think I'll be going over due date (first time mum).

Starlight84 · 11/10/2019 11:29

@thatwasMauijustmessingaround I think I might start chipping away a load here and there as well :)

@secretlyhermione I went 2 weeks over with first and planned section at 39 weeks with my second. I’ll have having planned section this time at 39 weeks also! Good luck! X

Starlight84 · 11/10/2019 15:24
