Terrible Heartburn!

Any ways to relieve this? I'm currently on ranitidine for hyperemesis but not helping much and its been all night and all day today. I cant seem to shift it! I'm 15 weeks. Can I have gaviscon or anything?

My sympathies.

I had Gaviscon on prescription when pregnant with twins. The heartburn was miserable. I was guzzling so much of it by the end.

Frij Milkshakes were another Godsend.

I slept propped up and avoided acidic and spicy food.

Unfortunately it stayed with me and it still flares up 14 years on (though I swear by Nexium - guessing you can't take those though).

Good luck.

I had terrible heartburn with my first pregnancy and reflexology was amazing for getting rid of it. Make sure that you see a reflexologist that specialises in pregnancy though as it's much more specific than general reflexology. Good luck x

I had bad heartburn, but only later on, ranitidine helped a lot, also no eating late, leave plenty of time before you go to bed, although it sounds as if you're suffering all day

I had this from about 25 weeks. Not just heartburn but acid reflux too when lying down at night which was awful! I went to the doctors and was prescribed Omeprazole - amazing and cured the symptoms immediately. Hope you feel better soon OP 😊

Gaviscon by the gallon. I am 27 weeks and I have a bedroom Gaviscon, downstairs Gaviscon, handbag Gaviscon and work Gaviscon.
My favourite is the mint one in the pink bottle - it is the least gross. The tablets and rennies don't do anything for me any more has to be the liquid.

Rennies instead of Gaviscon which made me 🤮

Good luck 🌸

Ranitidine prescribed by the doctor. Nothing else touched it and before I had it even water burnt.

RopeBrick · 10/10/2019 21:49

Rennies. Totally safe during pregnancy.

aliensprig · 10/10/2019 22:25

Rennies do the trick for me. Hope you find something that helps, it's miserable Sad

I second @Caramelblonde70 - mine was so bad that at its worse I would be sick. The Dr gave me Omeprazole and it took it away immediately. An absolute life saver xx
