So my period is due today. Its not arrived first thing this morning as it usually does (I'm like clockwork). I've been experiencing similar symptoms to what I had when I was pregnant with my son (boobs on fire, smell everything, major food aversions and issues, dizzyness, nausea) but I've taken a test this morning (Clear Blue digi) and its come up negative. So I'm now more confused than every. My partner and I slept together bang in the middle of the danger zone (lol) and so I'm just not convinced I am not pg. And then I wonder if there is enough hormones for me to be experiencing symptoms then surely there should be enough to show up on a test? So am I being stupid to think I could be? We haven't been trying as such but we arent using any contraception and haven't for some time.

Any advice or similar stories would be greatly appreciated!

Test again in a couple of days.

Clear blue digital are not a particularly sensitive test. I’d buy a FRER or other pink dye test and test again.

Hi, clear blue digital may not be sensitive enough to give bfp today. Might be worth getting snother test for tomorrow.

Margaret1930 · 09/10/2019 15:31

Sorry what's an FRER?

And start taking folic acid.

Confused!

Thanks. I've got some folic acid. I'm just super frustrated now cos I just want to know either way. And bloody pregnancy tests are so expensive!

Clear Blue Digitals are notoriously not very sensitive, take a First Response test. I got a positive at 9dpo and got negative on a digital (obviously) so definitely get a FRER! Good luck 🤞🏻

I've also got 20 spare One Step strip tests and an Asda digital. Tests are expensive so if you'd like me to post you those then I can

Margaret1930 · 09/10/2019 15:48

GoldLeafTree that is so kind of you I very much appreciate the offer. I'm going to instruct my partner to stop off on the way home from work and pick up a first response and perhaps a few other cheaper ones

This happened to me last week. BFN on day period was due with similar symptoms to you, I also used a clear blue digital. I got my BFP with first response 3 days later. Good luck.
