Clearblue 2-3 weeks

Sorry I might be a bit naive here but I'm still confused about how far along I am!

Have done a few online calculators which all say I'm due 12 June 2020 meaning I'm 5 weeks pregnant (5 weeks ago today was the first day of my last period). But I've just done a clear blue digital which said 2-3 weeks - but that's based upon when the egg implanted right, which would be about 2-3 weeks ago? But the other calculators say 5 weeks because that's how long it's been since my last period?

Pregnancies are dated from LMP but the clear blue week indicators date “from conception” (though it is actually just a marketing feature and shouldn’t be taken as an accurate description of how far along you are). So the clear blue one will (usually) date two weeks earlier than by LMP

@IvinghoeBeacon thank you! That's what I thought! Did you mean that the Clue Blues date 2 weeks later than LMP calculations?

If your last period was 5 weeks ago, then you are 5 weeks pregnant. Don't go by the clear blue weeks indicator as that counts from implantation. Midwives and scans will go by your last period date.

@Daydreamer71 I had the same and am due 16th June... when I read the leaflet inside it did say that 2-3 weeks on the test would translate as 5 weeks with doctors/LMP.

congratulations by the way :-)

Also check the settings on your app as mine set itself up on the week I am in rather than weeks completed.

Midwives etc count weeks completed so that could put you a week out too!

Daydreamer71 · 09/10/2019 17:50

@Cherry85 ohh okay thanks, what do you mean by weeks in vs weeks out?

Ignore the clear blue test.

All midwives go from last period. So pop your last period into an online calculator and there is your due date. Or count how many weeks since the first day of your last period. Works the same.

It’s odd, two weeks of your pregnancy you aren’t technically pregnant but that’s just how it’s calculated!

So some apps are set up to show you are IN your 17th week. But you would have 16 weeks completed. Midwives count how many you are completed.
