i had dd out to asda when she was 18 hours old. She came early and i had no toilet roll left!

i asked the same question when i broght my ds home. MW said any time you feel comfortable taking them out.

I had my dd2 out for a walk with the dog 16 hours after birth. It's whenever you feel ready to do it.

was told by my sister to wait a week just wanted more opinions on the matter. Only had the baby at 3 am this morn and was not told very much before being discharged

we took ds2 to the local shops straight from hosp. he was only a few hours old!! Had NO shopping and ds1 was in need of some attention while i was full of adrenalin before the tiredness set in!

frances, i had ds2 at 4:30am and was in teh shops at 2:30pm. listen to your body though.

when you feel ready be prepared to be stopped lots for ppl wanting to see your bundle!
my dd was day old when we were discharged then took her out hour later!
when she was three days dp and sister took her shopping so i could get some sleep (didnt sleep just worried)
