So I’m 11.5 weeks pregnant and just feel exhausted by nausea. It’s constant all day everyday although it with waves of feeling worse. And it actually seems to be getting worse rather than better as time progresses.
I realise I’m lucky I’m not being sick but I’m still really struggling. It’s disturbing my sleep and making everyday miserable

Nothing’s helping, sea bands, eating regularly eating bland food, ginger etc etc Got another 2 weeks til my next midwife appointment

Any ideas very much appreciated I’m getting to the point I just want to cry..

Go and see your GP. They can prescribe you safe anti-emetics that can really help.

I could have written your post a couple of months ago. Just as I was getting to 12 weeks and everyone was telling me I'd feel better I started to feel more nauseous and to add insult to injury started being sick as well. My GP wasn't very helpful but as I was under the hospital they prescribed antiemetics. Sleep when you can, speak to your midwife and GP to see if you can get a prescription and eat whatever you can. I agree about the wanting to cry! Hopefully it passes soon for you. It probably isn't what you want to hear when it feels never ending but over the last 2 or 3 weeks have started to feel like a new person.

Are you taking your folic acid etc with a big meal? I really struggled until I read you have to take it with a big meal, might be worth a try? And little and often food helped me so I never got hungry or else I felt so so so nauseous! X

Notmyname1988 · 07/10/2019 21:42

I was the same! I worked out that it was actually my pregnancy (pregnacare) vitamins making me ill as I was having too much iron. If you Google it others have reported the same. Could it be this?

Brianna83 · 07/10/2019 21:49

As someone said go and see your GP. I was utterly miserable and vomiting 4/5 times a day as well as being nauseous 24/7. By 16 weeks I was completely and utterly fed up. GP prescribed something which I can only describe as magic in a pill. I'm 6 months on Friday and just about managing without it now. There are no prizes for suffering in silence OP! Ask for help x

CateyA · 07/10/2019 21:52

Yes I’m either taking before bed or with meal. Although even the though of the pills makes me gag a bit. I tried the gummies but they tasted and smelt like rotten strawberries so it didn’t help!

Im eating little and often ... although I do need to cut my meal size down even more as I get so full so quick and that also makes it worse. I’m craving pure carbs... white pasta, potatoes and egg noodles but trying to choose more healthy options mostly.

On your advice I’ve booked a gp appointment for Thursday , although I admit I’m worried that they’ll say as I’m not vomiting, losing weight or dehydrated that I need to just push on.

I really hope you’re right and I get some relief soon. It’s just making me miserable and I have to admit the next family member/ work college who makes me feel like I’m being a drama queen and i should ‘cheer up as it’s just a little nausea and that’s part of being pregnant and wait til you’ve not slept for a million nights and how’ll you feel then.. and have I tried ginger tea’ I’m going to punch :-) is that bad? Can I blame hormones!?

@Notmyname1988 that’s really odd. When I was taking pregnacare I was always violently sick after 🤔

Op, get yourself the doctors I had horrible MS for 5 months. I sympathise so much it was awful, nothing helped I used the seabands they helped a little but not like I hoped. The other thing that helped was wine guns or ice pops but sometimes nothing really helps, I wish I’d of gone the doctors rather than suffering x

LeahSMS · 07/10/2019 22:02

Op, those people saying your a drama queen I bet they’ve never had much MS. It ruins your days your constantly exhausted and you can’t just put a smile on it. Take no notice. If you work you may benefit from getting a sick note if you can’t sleep properly or function properly x

flissity · 07/10/2019 22:13

Pregnacare also make me feel sick immediately after too. I don’t feel like that if I take just a folic acid tablet.

Notmyname1988 · 07/10/2019 22:20

Poor you! I definitely think the pregnacare don't agree with everyone. I had nausea til 20 weeks which was when I stopped taking them! I tried eating, ginger biscuits, bands... The lot! I was also craving carbs more, I lived on pasta! My 5 month old baba is currently sleeping next to me though, it's worth it in the end! I was you this time last year.
Maybe try just talking folic acid for a week and see if you feel differently.
I just remembered feeling so nauseas one day after work I couldn't make the 10min drive home from the train station and had to get an emergency kfc...if only I had that excuse now! Grin
