Hi, this is my first post!
My brain is in overdrive as we are in first stages of TTC and I'm excited, nervous, impatient - all the feels!

I've been told in the past my womb is heart shaped, not the tear shape it should be, I just wanted to know if anyone else has this too and what your experiences are?

Thanks in advance...
Also, can anyone help me with any abbreviations, I am the new girl after all Halo xx

Hi @HannyLove,
I have a heart shaped uterus like you. It was only detected on an early ultrasound in my third pregnancy which has resulted in my referral to a consultant this time around (procedure). There are many scary stories on the internet that can put the fear in you (also will depend on how severe your septum divider is) however, there are many women on here with a heart shaped uterus who have had straight forward pregnancies.
For me: TTC cycle 1: Fell first time. no complications during pregnancy, natural birth at 41 weeks.
number 2: TTC cycle 14, no complications during pregnancy, natural birth at 41+1 weeks
number 3.1: TTC cycle 2 - resulted in MMC (missed miscarriage)
number 3.2: TTC cycle 2, currently 29 weeks and have seen the consultant once who isn't at all concerned and neither am I due to having two previous straightforward pregnancies.
Hope the wait isn't too long for you. X

Hi @snowflakeeel,
Thank you so much for your reply!
That's so encouraging to hear (I'm so sorry about the mmc), I did the worst thing and googled it and it's filled me with dread ever since!
Sending you all the best for rest of your pregnancy! Xxx

Hi,
I have a heart shaped womb, it was diagnosed at my 12 week scan, I am now 19 weeks.

I had a miscarriage last year, unsure whether this was related to my womb shape as it was not diagnosed then.

I am now under a consultant who wants to see me every 4 weeks so monitor the growth of the baby and has asked me to take 150mg of aspirin daily.
My midwife advised me not to google it as you get all of the horror stories.

Hey, I have a heart shaped womb!

DS1- I didn't know I had this womb with him but he was undiagnosed breech so I ended up natural delivery breech!!! Despite everything he was fine. The heart shape could be why he didn't turn?

I then had a miscarriage at 7 weeks which is when we saw the bicornuate shape.

DS2- absolutely no issues & natural birth no pain relief.

I'm currently pregnant with number 3.
I'm only about 5 weeks & worrying about every thing!

Hi, I am currently nearly 12 weeks with my first pregnancy and was told I had a bicornate uterus before I fell pregnant. I had quite heavy bright red bleeding from about week 8 - 10 but have had an early scan, baby was fine and they advised they think it’s was the other side of my uterus losing its lining! So just some reassurance if you ever do see bleeding it doesn’t necessarily mean the worst! I have my 12 week scan a week today so fingers crosses everything is okay!

@bumble9193 I've just came back onto here and saw your message, thank you for that - I will have to remember that! Hope everything is going well for you! Xx
