Pregnant with number 2 and toddler is not pleased about the impending future of its arrival.

Are there any books that could help him start to look forward to it?

Or was there anything any of you did when baby number 2 was born that helped?

I found 'Pirate Pete- I'm a new big brother' for my DGS who really enjoyed it.
Seems to be standard practice these days to have a gift 'from the baby' ready. Making sure that you make a fuss of the older child and encourage them to think of their sibling as someone they can teach how to be as good/clever/funny etc still works for us!

We had 'there's a house inside my mummy' which was great. One thing I did was got toddler used to sitting next to me rather than on my lap all the time (for bedtime stories etc) so that when I had to breastfeed the new baby she was used to not being on my lap and that worked well for me.

I second 'there's a house inside my mummy' We read it a lot when I was pregnant and 2yo DD adapted really well to her new sibling. The character in the book is a boy but didn't make much difference.

I have ‘there’s a house inside my mummy’ for my little boy. He’s 3 (4 next month) and he loves it. I also bought “what’s in your tummy mummy” and “I am a big brother”. All he has loved especially now my bump is huge he loves comparing me to the pictures in the books.

Pirate pete is pretty good.

We also have 'there's a house inside my mummy' and one by the woman who does the Maisy books, think it's called Zaza's baby brother, DD seems to like them both and parrots some of the lines at me so I'm hoping it's sinking in!

There's A House Inside My Mummy, good luck reading it without crying at the end though 😂

Also 'Topsy and Tim and the new baby', quite nice about what babies do. Much less irritating than the frickin Cbeebies show...

The only reason I'd be crying at the end is the thought of having another! Grin

It was maybe pregnancy hormones making me cry 😆
