8 weeks pregnant and tiredness suddenly stopped - should I be worried?

Hi all,

My wife is 8 weeks pregnant and has been extremely tired for the last 4 weeks. Suddenly today the tiredness has gone. There has been no morning sickness at anytime in the pregnancy.

We had a scan 6 days ago and it all looked good.

We had a miscarriage at 7 weeks with our first pregnancy. This is attempt number 2.

I'm trying to be reassuring but am a bit worried...anyone else had similar things happen?

Cheers

Ben

I'm afraid I had similar happen. I wish you the best of luck. Try and get another scan

Hi Ben, please try not to worry just yet (easier said than done I know!) I’m 10 weeks pregnant and have had a lot of tiredness, but it really does seem to come and go. Some days I’ll feel fine and other days it’s as if I’ve been hit by a truck! If you saw the baby six days ago and there was a heartbeat then that’s a hugely positive sign. Could you try and book another scan to put your mind at rest? If you get to eight weeks and have a successful scan then I think the chances of a miscarriage are something like 2%, which is obviously hugely reassuring. Good luck.

Hello

I'm 8 weeks pregnant too and had something similar last week

I was knackered for a few weeks then for a few days I felt fine and felt not pregnant at all! Had a scan since and everything is absolutely fine. I've not had any sickness, just a little nausea around certain foods.

This is my fourth pregnancy, the first three ended in miscarriage before 7 weeks. Try to stay positive and not focus on every symptom or lack of, I know it's hard but try to have a little faith.

I keep reminding myself at this stage I should worry if I'm in serious pain or theres blood... other than that theres a lot going on in there and we're bound to feel different now and then

Hi Ben

I'm at 11 weeks and had a few days last week without any morning sickness or tiredness, both of which I have had fairly constantly. Midwife advised it's normal as your body gets used to dealing with pregnancy hormones. Both returned shortly afterwards, the tiredness with a vengeance. Hope everything works out for you and your wife, but I agree with @tacosplease every day is different so please don't worry too much.

Thanks for all the info! Good to hear we are not the only ones.

Trying to get a scan today just to be sure...fingers crossed. Will let you know how it goes.

Just went for a scan and everything is ok. Baby now 7 weeks 4 days.

Massive relief! Nurse said it maybe just down to getting lots of sleep at the weekend compared to busy weeks.

Thanks everyone!
