Swollen hands

I have woken with swollen hands today. Not really bad but feel bigger and skin tighter than yesterday. Feet are fine. I know hands can swell for many reasons. Should I worry yet or just keep an eye on it. Thankfully I'm in for a growth scan tomorrow with a fetal medicine consultant so can wait to ask him. WWYD?

I had this for the last month of pregnancy, felt very achy to grip things too. He was born 5 days ago and it took about 3 days for them to return to normal :) no issues. However if it gets worse contact your midwife

Thank you. I thought it might just be one of those things so I'll just keep an eye open.

How many weeks are you?
Might be worth calling your midwife and checking, sudden swelling can be a sign of pre-eclampsia.

32 weeks today. That's my concern as my mum had that when she had my sister and apparently runs in families. I have no other symptoms.

I woke up with sudden swollen hands at 34 weeks. I went into hospital with reduced movements anyway but my blood pressure was really high. Thankfully not pre eclampsia and it’s kept under control with medication now but even without the reduced i probably would have gone in to get my bp checked. I now go for twice weekly monitoring of my bp to ensure it’s not creeping up again. Definitely worth getting checked out!
