Twins???

Hi everyone

This is my 3rd pregnancy- unfortunately I lost the the other 2 very early. I'm on aspirin following consultation with DR Rag Rai. Very anxious but excited all the same time!

I need some advice from you lovely ladies... I got my bfp 4 days before my period was due (3+6) took 2 tests and both very clear positives. I took the tests as was having symptoms; cramping (I don't usually get cramping when due on my period), dizziness, nausea. As I've had these symptoms so early and the bfp so early could I be having twins???

I don’t think it’s anymore likely to be twins based on your description.

I conceived my current pregnancy with aspirin after 2 MC. I tested positive at 3+3 as I knew I was pregnant. Positive on a digital by 3+5. Symptoms etc. But there’s only one baby!

Some twin pregnancies have exaggerated symptoms, but some can be symptomless. You are also heightened to changes in those first few weeks so you will be noticing things more. Cramping, dizziness and nausea are very normal symptoms of early pregnancy (and I can assure you these will only increase!). Also, many women find out before their period if they are testing early.

Congratulations on the bfp though OP, wishing you you happy and safe pregnancy Flowers

@TongoP it is not always twins when you get strong positive early on. My body just makes extra and at 4weeks I normally get 3+ weeks on digital. Same thing has happened now (with few days earlier), but based on my history it is unlikely to be a sign for me. But only time will tell what I'm carrying this time around.

I am currently expecting twins and I felt absolutely fine up to about 6-7 weeks pregnant, I didn’t even have an inkling there could be more than one until a sonographer told me!

I had crazy off the scale HCG numbers with DS2. Was convinced it was twins or else something was dreadfully wrong. As it was it was a singleton pregnancy and he was absolutely perfect.

I had no clue it was twins until my first scan at 12 weeks. My symptoms were stronger first time (single pregnancy). I actually took a pregnancy test before leaving home for the scan where I found out it was twins. I just didn't feel pregnant. I've heard that sickness can be worse with twins, but that wasn't the case for me.

Congratulations, hope all goes smoothly for you!

I tested at 9DPO and got a very strong positive. Just one wee babe snuggled in there though. Hoping to see a lovely strong heartbeat at 8 weeks tomorrow but after many losses I’m very anxious! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy Smile

My first pregnancy was a singleton and my second actually began as triplets (sadly I miscarried one at 6 weeks, but I'm now 33 weeks with the remaining two). My positive tests were exactly the same for both pregnancies - both in terms of when I got the BFP and the line strength - and symptom wise, I was actually far worse with the singleton!

@ALifeMoreCurious hope the scan went well! I've had few losses myself so I totally understand the anxiety. I have a 6+3 week scan on Monday! Trying to keep positive

Thanks @TongoP we were amazed to see the baby was still healthy and growing at just beyond 8 weeks. Now awaiting next scan on Saturday at 10 weeks as I’m having the harmony test. Further along than my last four pregnancies so feeling hopeful but as I’ve experienced a late miscarriage it still feels like we have a long road ahead. I almost can’t bring myself to believe I’m expecting but I’m trying hard to trust that all will be okay. Good luck for Monday Smile
