I know it's a silly question. Internet says nothing!!

Anyone have some extremely early symptoms?

No one knows your body better than you but I'd be careful not to get your hopes up as pregnancy symptoms and period coming ones are almost identical at this stage. Try not to drive yourself bonkers whilst you wait Thanks

A week after ovulation? Yes, I felt sick, bloated and twinges. Others will say you can’t but I definitely did.

YankeeSocks · 05/10/2019 21:24

I have felt bloated but that's very normal for me anyway... slightly dizzy for the past few days and had a few mood swings Blush we'll see!

@newbeginningsyeah what are twinges? Sorry

I had dizzy spells too, but feeling sick was the biggest give away and have been to varying degrees for the whole pregnancy, I’m 33 weeks now. Fingers crossed for you!

Small pulling pains in my uterus.

A week after what? Sex/ovulation? IME no, what you're feeling is just the normal increase in progesterone which makes up the second half of your menstrual cycle. If you're not pregnant it will die down when your period arrives and if you are pregnant it will ramp up at this point instead, slowly at first and then sharply around 2 weeks after your missed period (when you're technically 6 weeks pregnant).

Took about 2.5 years to TTC DS2 with several early miscarriages - I have a LOT of experience comparing actual pregnancy with PMS, and it's honestly identical until that point, although variable month to month.

People say they can feel a difference but TBH I think if you have normal fertility and conceive within about 4-6 months it's not long enough to compare and usually confirmation bias, you get the positive, look back and think "Yeah I was feeling a bit sick/dizzy this month". I did it loads and kept convincing myself I was pregnant/not pregnant and being wrong.

Biologically, your body doesn’t recognise pregnancy until the egg has implanted around 7 days after ovulation (and 7 days before your period roughly). Until then, it’s just a group of multiplying cells in your tubes. There is no change to your hormones during this phase. It’s just your regular hormones doing their usual thing!

That said, after that, yes. It’s totally possible. Both pregnancies of mine, I got bad heartburn from 6 days before my period. I never get heartburn any other time! So clearly whatever cause heartburn in pregnancy kicks in quickly for me!

BertieBotts · 05/10/2019 21:35

OK the small pulling/stretching feelings I'll give you that - but not until much closer to missed period IME.

Bubbles121 · 05/10/2019 21:38

I did. I was sure, so I bought a test and was shocked to see it was negative. I was testing way too early, as the next week I got a BFP six days early. I just absolutely knew.

TeaAddict235 · 05/10/2019 21:41

Yes i had womb twitching too. From the get go. But then I feel ovulation occurring too.

Newmumma83 · 05/10/2019 21:45

I felt different when about 2 weeks pregnant / 2 and a bit weeks after start of period anyhow.
I thought it was crazy as only literally started to try after that cycle
Did a test 1 week later as was feeling off and it was positive

I have a 10 month old in his cot right now as proof.

So yes I imagine you can .. i felt very ill for a lot of the pregnancy women that didn’t know for the first 5 months I am so jealous of but regardless it’s so worth it ❤️

ELM8 · 05/10/2019 23:51

Yes - some twinging/pulling

ALifeMoreCurious · 06/10/2019 10:00

For me, yes, I can totally distinguish pregnancy symptoms from my period. Giveaways are sore breasts, fatigue and dizziness. I get none of that with my period.

YankeeSocks · 06/10/2019 19:41

I am feeling hot randomly now and again. Maybe I do need to take a test Blush

I was certain both times - I get really big blue veins in my palms and boobs by about a week after conception. Don't want to get your hopes up though - maybe a coincidence! Good luck

DramaAlpaca · 06/10/2019 19:56

I knew about five days before my period was due, in all three of my pregnancies. My boobs became heavy & uncomfortable with very obvious blue veins & I had a strong metallic taste in my mouth. I never had those symptoms towards the end of my cycle when I wasn't pregnant, it was unmistakable.
