Growth dropped off at 40weeks

Hello.

I've just come back from my midwife appointment, I'm 40 + 1.

She took my bump measurement and said that the growth has dropped so has left a message for the hospital to book me in for a scan in the next 48hours

Has anyone else had this, feeling worried.

She said it could just be positioning but they need to check it. I've been feeling movement but now panicked that I haven't properly counted kicks as I'm running around after a 2year old

I had this recently (baby now 3 weeks old) and he was born a couple of days later weighing 9lb1.

My friend had this at 38 weeks and was booked in for a scan 2 days later. Baby was born fit as a fiddle before the scan came around. The midwife who delivered him said he must have just dropped so much to engage ready for birth that it messed up the measurements.

I would agree that baby has most likely dropped and engaged. I felt this with my first two. Hopefully baby will be with you soon. X

I wouldn’t worry the Midwife’s measurements can vary midwife to midwife, I had this when I was 36 weekswith my first, they said I was l measuring small and when we went for the scan he was 7lb ish already! He was born 6 weeks later weighing 9lb.
