pelvic pain in (very) early pregnancy?

pease ignore the username - this is an old burner account i made years ago and i'm no longer an au pair haha.

I found out about a week ago I'm pregnant - we weren't trying so i can't say for sure exactly how far along I am but i'd say about 3ish weeks.

For the last few days I've been having sudden sharp pelvic pain, it usually lasts for a few seconds and then it's gone and it's happening a few times a day. the pain level is about normal period cramps - just a bit jarring because it's so sudden. there's no blood or other symptoms of miscarriage. i read that it can be common and just the uterus 'stretching' but obviously it could also be the start of something else and i've really freaked myself out because i took ibuprofen for a couple of days a week ago.

i called nhs 24 and a nurse wasn't available so i'll just have to wait and ask you ladies for advice. i know there's a 99% chance i'm just being silly but i'm still a bit worried. did anyone experience that sudden sharp pelvic pain in early pregnancy?

Ultimately none of us can advise you. We aren't medically trained and to be honest, there's going to be people sharing their stories, wanting to tell you what you want to hear and so on.

If you're 3 weeks pregnant then the likelihood is you've got another week until your missed period.

It's unlikely to be pregnancy symptoms unless there's some implantation but that wouldn't be pelvis pain. It could also be miscarriage due to a chemical pregnancy. It could also be psychosomatic. We don't know.

I'd look after yourself, get passed your first missed period and test again.

  • past your first missed period. Confused

@lolasmiles sorry i'm an idiot - i've already missed a period and pregnancy tests are all coming up positive. we weren't trying at all so i'm embarrassingly not at all up to date on how early pregnancy is measured. it was an (un)educated guess.

i'm definitely pregnant but i wouldn't guess more than one month.
