Tight Bump Muscles?

MummyBear405 · 02/10/2019 08:56

I'm 23 weeks and I have quite a small neat bump. The past day or so my tummy muscles have been feeling really tight almost like I'll pull a muscle just by reaching over it.

Has anything else experienced this? I'm not too concerned (FTM) just wondered if it's a normal feeling to experience!

TIA xx

I'm 27 weeks and been experiencing this, it sounds like braxton hicks hope your well xxx

I got this as well and also have a small tight bump. The tightenings are probably braxton hicks but make sure you time them - if they seem regular to you then definitely contact your labour ward.

Thanks for the replies ladies!

I never even considered braxton hicks but it makes sense as apparently one thing that can cause them is dehyradation and after I woke up to an awful cramp in my leg this morning DH did ask if I was drinking enough water. This confirms it! I'll keep an eye on how close together they are though.

Thanks again Smile

A possible cause is spasm of the round ligament holding the uterus in place. These short, thick ligaments stretch to accommodate your growing uterus. Sometimes they stretch too suddenly, such as when you get out of bed or move awkwardly and go into a brief spasm, which feels like a "stitch". . There is nothing dangerous about it - most times the pains just go away .
