Chest pain early pregnancy

I wonder if anyone can let me know if they experienced what i am going through right now.

I'm 10 weeks pregnant and last week had stabbing chest pain in my left side which went into my shoulder and down my arm. Dr sent me to A&E to rule out pulmonary embolism - all ok and it wasn't that. Lasted for about 7 hours but woke up Friday fine.

It has come back again today, again in my left side with stabbing like pain. I know it's not an ectopic as had a scan last week.
Before falling pregnant i exercised like a beast, 5 days a week lifting heavy weights. Since falling pregnant i've done nothing apart from walk the dog as i've felt so awful so debating if it's to do with going from 100-0 and ligaments stretching ect. Just not sure i should be in this much pain.

Anyone else experience this?

Have you considered it might by acid reflux caused by increased pressure on your stomach, it would be worth sipping some Gaviscon to see if it eases next time it happens.

Reflux can caused heart attack like symptoms in your chest.

I was going to say acid reflux as well. I get chest pains when I don't pay any attention to it. Especially during the night.

I havent actually no as never had it before, its only in one side is this common with acid reflux? Can you take gaviscon when pregnant?

My partner had bad reflux all through pregnancy and was allowed to take a few different types of anti-acid medication but they always say check with your health professional first.

Reflux is super common in pregnancy. If you can get hold of some tums on amazon they literally just made from calcium carbonate witch is literally chalk and completely safe to eat.

But Gaviscon and Rennie should be absolutely fine. The ones you want to avoid are the acid blockers like Nexium and stuff.

As you’re only 10 weeks it probably wouldn’t be reflux just yet as there’s nothing to push up your stomach. It probably is muscle wasting and maybe a vitamin deficiency - I got similar pains in my shoulders during early pregnancy and after testing was referred to a physio to replace the exercise I did (climbing) and given industrial strength vit d.

I kind of experienced this in later pregnancy, in the 8th month. It took my breath away. Obviously I panicked and thought I was going to die, which in turn made me have a panic attack and made it worse. It went after a few minutes tho.
So although I'm not a Dr I do think it's pregnancy related. I don't know what the cause was. I did get acid reflux quite bad also. Hope this puts your mind at ease.

@dad2hen that's great thank you, never thought it could be that but will certainly give some remedies a try!

@Teddybear45 I take my pregnancy vitamins but maybe i'm lacking still. That's so interesting as i've had pains in my shoulders too and i started physio yesterday so hoping it helps. I was debating if it was to do with me not exercising as hard as i did a i was lifting heavy weights before.

@RedWineAllMine i definitely think it's pregnancy related as not had this pre pregnancy. Thank you, hoping these solutions help!
