Suspected miscarriage

Hi all,

Looking for maybe some reassurance. I got a wonderful positive pregnancy test almost a month ago now. (Last period was 20th August) but on Sunday I started spotting, just on wiping and now it spots onto my pad. I've lots all pregnancy symptoms. EPU have offered a scan tomorrow. I suspect it's a silent miscarriage- I haven't passed a clot or have any pain, but again I didn't with my last miscarriage three years ago. We'd been trying for a year so it's quite disappointing. How I coped in early pregnancy before is beyond me but I'm finding this experience really hard. I'm 37 and with a low ovarian reserve so not feeling super positive at the moment. Any advice? X

I am sorry to hear this OP. I've had a mmc too and it's shit, though my symptoms remained until the erpc.

Personally i would hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Do you have support to go with you to the scan? Can you take time from work if you have miscarried or if you haven't and the doctors advise rest for a few days?

And both of my other pregnancies also had spotting and bleeding (bright red). I suspected loss too, especially as i felt i lost symptoms with dc2 but all was well.

I know women who've bled heavily and had healthy pregnancies and those who haven't bled at all who have lost. So personally i would have hope but be prepared just in case of the worst. Good luck.

Really sorry this is happening to you. I had a MMC 4 months ago. Shitty and awful time doesn’t even come close to it. Surround yourself with people who care about you. Be kind to yourself. In the darkest times and thoughts when it feels like it is never going to get better it will..... just hang on. Sending love 💖
