My ex has been contributing by putting money into a savings we have for our little girl that is due in February! He is now requesting this money back but it is money for our baby to buy stuff she needs, am I required to give him this money?

No he is not. He is giving you the money, it is a gift, tell him to get stuffed

mummymayhem18 · 30/09/2019 15:37

Definitely do not gIve It back. It's for your baby. You will need it.

snowflakeeel · 30/09/2019 17:18

I know a gift should be a gift and not demanded to be returned however, what are the circumstances? Has he told you why he wants to money back?

TimeforanotherChange · 30/09/2019 17:39

If you give him it back you will never see it again. I would tell him it is in a Child Trust Fund account and can't be accessed til the child is 18 - and then only by her.

ineedaholidaynow · 30/09/2019 17:46

Is he contributing in any other way eg buying pram?

Redred2429 · 30/09/2019 17:49

No don't give him it op this is Money for the baby and he won't repay it

MySonIsAlsoNamedBort · 30/09/2019 17:53

Why does he want it back?

Clangus00 · 30/09/2019 17:56

Technically he doesn’t have to contribute anything until he’s had a positive DNA test after the child is born.
I’d be inclined to throw it back in his face in 1p bank bags and tell him to shove his money up his arse!

eks3 · 30/09/2019 17:57

No he's not contributed in buying anything everything I have has been bought by me, he has put money into this savings account
