has anyone started to have cravings in later pregnancy? At 31 weeks I seem to have become addicted to sparkling water (not still). It's not a thirst thing but I just can't seem to get enough of the stuff (about 3 litres a day). Also crunching ice cubes is great .. am I the only one??

Detta - my only comment is that fizzy drinks are not good for pg mums... I can't rememeber why but I'll search.
I know someone who craved for very cold iceberg lettuce!

With ds I also drank alot of sparkling mineral water, never really drank it before and not an awful lot since. I think the main reason, it was water and it helped with the heartburn etc. Cant stop drinking milk this time around, alot more than with ds, just started on fruit again (35 weeks btw).

Pupuce, I didnt think sparkling mineral water would be a problem only things like coke due to caffeine content, correct me if Im wrong.

My only craving was Kit Kat Chunky bars and I still crave them now my youngest is nearly 18 months old!

I ate loads of ice for most of both my pregnancies. It helped with the v. bad vomitting I had all the way with both. Two yrs on still crunch ice cubes on a regular basis, as do both my dds!!!

Fab story on R4's Home Truths about a woman who got her tounge stuck to the freezer whilst trying to lick out the ice tray!!! Now there's dedication!

Ice lollies with dd - loads of them. Chicken with ds (was a veggie so not good, now eat fish as a result! ). Went around sniffing other people's dinners and eating chicken flavoured food to compensate.

Not really a craving, but I could only manage to drink sparkling water with ds.

Detta, I lived off corn chips and subway sandwiches all throughout my 1st pregnancy. Carbonated water is recommended to help ease morning sickness. Anything with carbonation (without the caffeine though). Im not sure but carbonated drinks might cause some gas problems. Other then that I dont think it is harmful.

Dreamer with ds I had loads of fruit pastelle lollies and started eating fish after being a veggie and this time round have eaten chicken and fish but will be going back to veggie when no2 born. Must just be something the body needs, though does seem not so much fish needed this time round.

When expecting dd, my craving was Cadbury's Creme eggs, loads of them! With ds I didn't have any cravings - I just threw up for the first 3 or 4 months everytime I could smell food cooking.

Didnt have any cravings until the last month when I went couldnt get enough of Dairy Milk and some fab choclately swirly ice cream with extra choc and marshallow (i think) bits from M & S. As soon as dd was born, didnt give them another thought - but now I've been reminded, maybe I should check M&S out to see if they still do the ice cream! Also ate my way through Tesco's stock of satsumas. Dd now not keen at all on ice cream but does love satsumas and oranges.
