I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant with dc3 didint gain much my other 2 pregnancys I have had horrible sickness this time whare I could only face carbs and junk food . I'm ashamed to say I stood on the scales today and I've gained 1 stone 8 pounds already. I was slightly over weight before pregnancy by about 5 pounds.
I'm really dreading the midwife tomorrow as I think she will be horrified at the weight gain already I look about 6 months pregnant never mind 13 weeks .
Please tell me it gets better and the junk cravings stop and the pounds slow down .

Babyg1995 · 29/09/2019 19:42

I can personally recommend it and my midwife does too. It definitely helped me stay within a healthy weight gain but it can cause problems I've got to have a diabetes check at 26 weeks so I'm being extra careful in the week but letting my hair down a bit at weekend. Good luck I'm sure you'll be ok

Babyg1995 · 29/09/2019 19:55

Thank you so much will definitely start slimming world tomorrow.

@Babyg1995 I'm pretty sure I've gained about a stone too. I'm 12 weeks. I too have been really sick and have had to eat whatever I could keep down. Try not to bad. It's good you managed to get food into you rather than not eating. Hopefully the sickness will ease soon. I'm hoping mine does so I can start eating better. I've literally been vomiting up vegetables so have had to eat lots of carbs. Let us know how you get on! X

Try not to panic op. The first couple of months are really hard. You can be so sick, tired and then crazy hangry that it’s not unusual to put quite a bit of weight on. Hopefully, you will start to feel better over the next couple of weeks and then you can start to make better choices when it comes to eating and maybe get out and about for a walk of an evening. You should find that you can keep the weight gain very similar to the current amount once you feel well. In my opinion, pregnancy is not a time to bash yourself about your weight Flowers

You do show a lot sooner with subsequent pregnancies as my m/w put it you pop back into pregnancy shape very quickly, please don't do what I did and eat what you like for 9 months thinking it will fall off after, my youngest is two next month and I've only just got back to pp weight, just eat healthy food that you and baby need and don't cave in to cravings and as others have said stay as active as possible.
Drinking lots of water should help to and it apparently reduces the likelihood of stretch marks.

You could also find its bloating at this stage rather than baby

Try not to worry - I wouldn't go on a panic diet. I was the same in the first trimester, could only face beige and couldn't touch fruit/veg/fish/meat. Eating was the only thing that stopped me feeling sick.

Put on nearly a stone, but then felt much better by about 13/14 weeks, started swimming and eating normally and my weight stayed the same for pretty much the whole second trimester and just redistributed to the bump. You might get the same!!

Hope all goes well Smile
