Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else had a spike in their heart rate in early pregnancy?

I am due on in 3 days have had brown discharge today. We are trying to conceive and have been since June when I had my mirena coil out.

I wear a Fitbit and noticed last night my heart rate didn't really get below 100 when it usually sits about 75-80. My resting has jumped from 84 to 87 overnight. Could I be pregnant?

Thanks

No idea. I know our hearts are meant to rest in the night with exception of those with transplanted hearts, I also know that they increase when in pain. Basically I am of no help but I wasn’t aware the rate increases when pregnant, at least not the early stages anyway.

An increase in resting heart rate was one of the first things I noticed so it could be and your resting heart rate does increase in pregnancy, only thing that will confirm is a test.

I dont want to sound harsh, but an increase in HR on its own can mean anything from having an infection brewing, to having a tough day, to having a restless night. Anything.

Brown discharge pre period could just be spotting before the period itself sets in.

I hope it works out for you, but id wait a week to be sure. Symptom spotting isnt a good way to go im afraid because things can vary month to month.

The fitbit isn’t totally accurate at predicting heart rate when you aren’t moving. You need to look at how much it increases when you’re moving. During early pregnancy over the course of a week my walking heart rate increased from 80bpm to 100-120 bpm while I was moving.
