Hi everyone! We are telling family next weekend and just want to make sure this is definitely a boy? I'm not sure what I'm looking at it is sticking out but also see 3 lines that I've heard is a girl? Had private scan at 16+2 and told boy, my gut was it was a girl so just want to make sure before announcing lol! 🙈🙈🙈 (will be over the moon with either!

Definitely a boy? Help!

Booked private scans with both my babies they go to the trouble of spending time with you unlike NHS scans they arent looking for the sex unless they can clearly see if If they say boy it's a boy!thought all along I was pregnant with a boy to be told No girl so sometime your feeling can be wrongConfused yes 3 distinc lines if a girl Congratulations all the best x

Abi58 · 28/09/2019 20:12

@GlitterSparkle85 thank you. Not had my 20 week yet, 12 week scan lady was lovely though. I know nhs aren't there to find sex they are there to make sure healthy just wanted to double check. So you think a boy?

Abi58 · 28/09/2019 20:27

@pelirocco123 it's an in between the legs shot 😂 the circled bit is what they said was the penis lol! I promise it does look like a baby from other angles 😁

I think boy if they've told you I had private scan after my 16 week as they couldn't tell sex of either!didn't mean it offensively about NHS scans just that private ones spend more time with you and generally are lovely x both times they were right!

rubyroot · 28/09/2019 20:39

Well if they have n in between leg shot that looks pretty certain to me!

Ohyesiam · 28/09/2019 20:42

Just announce a baby. Your family will be pleased.
Congratulations

legalseagull · 28/09/2019 20:48

Of course that's a boy! Bum to the right with legs pointing towards to the left. Penis in between! I have one of each and this looks just like my boy. Congratulations

Burlea · 28/09/2019 20:50

Why do you need to tell anyone let it be a surprise.

Pcosmama · 28/09/2019 20:53

1000% boy, congratulations!

CountryBearJamboree · 28/09/2019 20:58

I don't even know what I'm looking at!

Figgygal · 28/09/2019 21:00

Can't you wait for the 20 week scan and see if it's clearer then?
Why in such a hurry to tell everyone

And I speak as someone who found out with both mine pregnancies

Abi58 · 28/09/2019 21:15

Thank you to those who have answered really appreciate it ☺️ just needed reassurance 🙈

For those querying why we need to rush to announce we don't, and we are not telling everyone just parents and siblings as they are also excited to know. None of us care whether boy or girl as long as baby is happy but we are still so excited and keen to know and get a few boy things (not meaning blue just some that aren't completely neutral)

We have already announced that we are pregnant I understand not everyone wants to know the sex but we did and so do our close family.

YourWinter · 28/09/2019 21:17

No need to tell anyone else the gender until AT LEAST 20 weeks, if at all.

Abi58 · 28/09/2019 21:21

@YourWinter I appreciate your opinion but everyone is entitled to do what they choose and we are also not telling everyone...

I understand everyone has an opinion on whether you should find out and when to tell people but all I'm asking is opinion on the scan image not on my choice to find out or reveal it. Thank you.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 28/09/2019 21:24

This was my private scan at about 18 weeks if that helps, they've said boy but I'm 31 weeks now so haven't met him to confirm.

Definitely a boy? Help!
PastaSauceHoarder · 28/09/2019 21:42

Looks like a little boy to me!
I've got scan shots like that for my toddler and the baby I'm carrying now and they're both girls - they definitely don't have that little extra bit between the legs! 😂

Congratulations by the way! Smile

Bol87 · 28/09/2019 21:45

I hate people commenting about telling people the gender- just stop. The OP clearly wants to know the sex and is excited to tell family & friends. And that’s perfectly OK. It’s her decision. She’s not asking your opinion on her decision to announce her babies sex. She’s not sure what she’s looking at on a scan so double checking!

I think it looks like a boy Smile

I’m having a 16 week scan next week to find out the sex & my family are all so excited to know our news. They’ll be thrilled either way, as will we. And if the scan happened to be wrong later down the line, they’d laugh & accept the new sex 😄

Starlight84 · 29/09/2019 00:14

I think boy :) this is a pic of my scan I had privately just over 16 weeks! I did have boy confirmed at 20 week scan (I hope!) I didn’t let on I already knew, just said if possible I’d like to know the sex! Congratulations xx

Starlight84 · 29/09/2019 00:15

Not sure why the pic didn’t attach! Fingers crossed this time it shows! X
