Bump with second baby

With my first pregnancy I didn’t get a bump until about 25 weeks and it wasn't one that anyone noticed until around 30/32 weeks when it suddenly popped and everyone commented. Currently 14+2 with number two and haven’t gained any weight or got any bloat or change of shape at all. I always thought second time round you started to show fairly early due to your stomach muscles being weaker?? When did you all show with your second baby? I know I’m being over anxious but I keep convincing my self baby isn’t growing 😩

I think it’s dependant on each persons body! Are you fairly fit? If you have good stomach muscles, it’ll hold it all in! Or it may just be the way your body carries babies!

I’m on babby no.2 and I’d say I’m carrying almost identically. I have a pretty small bump that has popped out this week & it looks the same as photos I have of 15 weeks with no.1! So far no different with no.2 for me!

Don’t worry, I’m sure everything is totally OK!

Yeah I went to the gym x3 a week prior to pregnancy so I think my stomach muscles were fairly strong so I guess that may make a difference. I think it’s just that odd time when the sickness stops and the tiredness isn’t so bad yet you haven’t got a bump and can’t feel movement.

I think it just goes to show how everyone is different! But I honestly wouldn’t worry - presumably that’s just how you carry. I have the opposite problem so am mildly envious! I appear to be about three or four weeks bigger than at the same stage last time (but I had no stomach muscles the first time Blush).

Last time, I “popped” at about 16 weeks - very small bump but very visible - and this time, I “popped” at 12 weeks (I appear to pop when I announce a pregnancy).

I am constantly fending off questions as to whether it’s twins and seeing people’s visible shock on hearing I’m not due for another three months. So am starting to feel very self-conscious. But I think it’s just the way I carry - bump is measuring fine and it’s all to the front, plus I’m short. I’m sure it’s the same for you and that baby is fine.

@20TinkerBell20 I'm in the same boat! 16 weeks, symptoms are finally going and was saying to my husband today that sometimes I wonder if I still am pregnant! I look it toward the end of the day, but early on, there's not much of a bump, just a pouch haha. I thought I'd be big already with number 2. I guess we're all just different!

I thought the same when having Dd2 that I'd show earlier on, I only had a little podge until around 28 weeks nobody noticed I was pregnant who didn't know and then all of a sudden within a week or two my belly was huge and all the school run mothers and the other acquaintances commented and were shocked when I told them how far along I was then Dd3 came along and didn't show on her until around 24 weeks same thing within a week or two my belly went huge, I was also much bigger towards the end than either of my sisters who showed far earlier than me but they are both much taller than me so we put it down to that we are all different so all will carry different, same as first time mothers tend to go over DD I didn't Dd1 was four days before Dd and then pregnant mothers after their first tend to go earlier than DD Dd2 came two days over and DD3 come one day after, DD1 was my heaviest DD2 the middle weight and DD3 was the lightest, the only norm I had was your first is the longest labour that certainly was true for me 16 hours where DD2 was 7 hours and DD3 5 hours in total.
They are only what tends to happen to the majority not a guarantee so don't worry I'm sure baby is growing just fine Smile

I am 24 weeks with number 2 and look 34 😂 ah well. Embrace the fact your not like a hippo yet. I fear I won't be able to drive, see my feet, wash properly by.... Next week?

Please don't worry, every pregnancy is different! And as you get further along the position of the baby makes a lot of difference too.

With my DD, my bump was really high because she was up in my ribcage. With DS, my bump was really low because he was much further down. And with DD I never needed to wee constantly, but with DS I might as well have set up camp in the bathroom! But DD restricted my breathing more than DS, so it all evened out.

Good luck!

I've been the same size with both of my Pgs, definitely didn't show any earlier this time,
