Labour pains?

Hey ladies,

I'm 34+1 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Last night I didn't sleep a wink, couldn't get comfortable with back pain, restless legs and generally uncomfortable and heavy feeling, even though I was absolutely exhausted 😳 I've put it down to constipation as I hadn't been properly in a couple of days, but I went (a bit) earlier on and from then I've had what feels like period pains. I was lying on the sofa on my back on my pregnancy pillow and now I've moved to my side as my back was sore and now the 'period pains' have got worse. They come and go just like period pains do and it's just like that 'full' feeling of pain you get. My belly has felt rock hard but right now it's softened again, that comes and goes too.

Is this normal? The awful night I had last night made me think something was on the horizon but maybe I'm just overthinking it. I'm not in agony, just a bit sore and uncomfortable. I've taken paracetamol and it hasn't really eased.

Thank you all in advance x

You really need to go get seem at the hospital as what your describing sounds like contractions. Please don't panic as they may be Braxton hicks or just your body preparing for labour but better to be safe good luck please update us
