Bleeding for a week - 8 weeks pregnant today

I'm really looking for some advice. I've been bleeding for a week now, bright red. At first it was just mild but it has got heavier and i am seeing the odd small clots.
I've been in a lot of pain in my lower abdomen, severe cramps and more centred and going to the right hand side and even into my back.
I went for an internal examination a few days ago because i was worried, but the Dr said my cervix is fully closed and my uterus was that of a 7 week pregnancy.
I'm 37 and have 2 grown children 14 and 19 years, i didn't expierience anything like this with either pregnancy. I did have 'the show' with both but that was very normal and as expected.
Has anyone gone through this and had a positive outcome?

Hi, I am currently in the same situation have been bleeding since Monday, bright red and have started to have cramping over the weekend, as it was getting worse yesterday I went to A&E and they told me my cervix is closed and that I am to ring my EPU tomorrow so hopefully I can get a scan! I did see baby at a scan last Monday before the bleeding started and I was told everything looked healthy and saw the heartbeat so hoping for a positive outcome. Is there any chance you could get an appointment at your early pregnancy unit for a scan?

I’m currently experiencing the same thing and I’m
at 8 weeks. Had to go to EPAU as earlier today shooting pain and passed a clot the size of a 50 pence coin so obviously thought the worst. Got checked out and they could see my cervix was closed, my last scan was on Saturday (previous pregnancy was ectopic hence the early scans) and was bleeding slightly then but could see baby’s heartbeat. I’m booked in for another scan this Sunday.

@Rocketfuelneeded I am at the EPAU tomorrow afternoon but this evening I also passed what looked like a clot/tissue that was about the size of a 20 pence coin! I am just trying to stay positive and hoping everything will be okay at my scan tomorrow!

Yesterday I started bleeding. Firstly really light and then went a bright red, with small clots. I have an appointment with gp this morning hoping, they will refer me to EPU. Im 8 weeks. I'm trying to stay positive but finding it very difficult.

Had my scan today and baby was fine, could see arms and legs, it was moving about loads! I have been told that they think because I have a bicornate uterus that the bleeding is the the other side of my womb to the one the baby is in shedding its lining! Hoping for positive outcomes for everyone else xx

That's great news!!! Very happy for you.
I have a scan booked at the EPU for tomorrow morning, keeping everything crossed but today I have had some cramps and still bleeding.
