Labetalol not working to lower blood pressure

I was started on 100mg of labetalol on Thursday after having high blood pressure. I’ve taken it as instructed and when I went in for routine monitoring today my blood pressure had crept up higher than it was on Thursday (not loads higher, but on average slightly higher). Urine still showed no protein thankfully but my blood results showed certain things were a little high although I’m not sure what they were they just repeated the blood test so I can’t imagine it’s anything worrying.
They’ve now told me to take 200mg instead of 100 to see if that helps but I can’t help thinking with taking 100mg that should have helped in some way even if it wasn’t by much?

Has anyone else had experience of this and then the higher dose worked really well? I thought it would have definitely came down a bit. My fingers are still swollen but I have no other worrying symptoms. I’m just anxious about needing an induction as it’s something I’d like to steer clear of if I could help it.

I’ve cut salt out my diet (as of Thursday when I realised bp was high) and I’ve read walking helps but as I have 2 dogs I’m always out walking anyway for a couple of hours each day.

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated!

I’ll be 35 weeks tomorrow also just in case that’s relevant!
