Bleeding at 8 Weeks

Apologies for the long post by I wondered if anyone had a similar experience or any advice. I am currently 8 + 5 weeks pregnant and had an early scan on Monday, saw baby’s heartbeat and was told everything looked healthy and normal. I then started to have bleeding on Monday night, not enough to fill a pad but it’s there every time I go to the toilet. I called the early pregnancy unit on Tuesday and they said if it wasn’t flowing heavily then we would just stick with the original plan to be scanned again in two weeks. Is this bleeding something I should be concerned about? I’m not sure I will be able to get a scan before my next appointment if it doesn’t get any worse.
I also have been told I have a bicornate uterus which I have mentioned at the scans I have had but no one seems to concerned but I can’t help but think this must be something to do with it.

I had some light bleeding at around 9 weeks and went to the early pregnancy unit where they did a scan etc. It did go away the same day though but if your concerned at all or feel like you can’t rest there’s no reason why you can’t go back to the unit and share your concerns. It’s always better to be safe than sorry and most midwifes will understand your concerns. I’m sure everything is okay Flowers

Yeah mine has been happening for 5 days now I mean I feel like it looks like a lot but it probably isn’t because it doesn’t fill up a pad! I think if it is still happening next week I will ring the EPU again I just don’t want to seem like a dramatic pest :(

@Bumble9193 by the end of my pregnancy I’m sure the midwives had had enough of me but if it helps put your mind at rest just like it did mine then it’s all worth it. Chances are you won’t see the same ones anyway so they may have different advice etc

I honestly don't think there is anything dramatic in being worried about bleeding during pregnancy. I bled heavily during my recent pregnancy on and off for 18 weeks. The last bleed involved being admitted after losing 2 pints. They were never able to say why or where the blood had come from but it was terrifying. My experience with the EPU was fairly positive. If you've been bleeding for a week, I think you're well within your rights to approach the EPU earlier. I'm sorry you're going through it, I know it's really scary.

Thank you very much for your advice it definitely has made me feel more like I can contact my EPU again, I think I will give them a ring next week just to see what they think is best to do. I do still feel pregnant I don’t think I have lost the baby but it is still pretty worrying seeing blood everyday!
