hi all,

I'm so so upset. just got back from 31 week appointment and I mentioned to her I'd woken up feeling really quite unwell- kind of like you do at the start of a stomach bug, nasty abdominal cramp, lower back ache general feeling of unwell but with no vomiting or diarrhoea and she has phoned triage asking me to be checked! started discussing pre term labour and the fact that she cant tell if my stomach is tightening as I have good stomach muscles. however I've been sent home on instruction to take 2 paracetomal and keep an eye on it to see if it gets worse as they are really busy atm. I'm now at home completely panic, in pain and to top it off my bump has also not grown at all since last time and is still measuring 27cm so she has also put me in for an urgent growth scan. I'm now just at home panicking. so honest opinions is this sounding like it could be preterm labour and to top it off what on earth am I supposed to do right now! :'( I know they cant help being busy but I wish she hadnt said to me about pre term labour and that I urgently needed to be seen today to then be sent home as now I'm panicking x

We're your examined at the hospital? I don't think they would have sent you home if they thought you could genuinely be in preterm labour, but I wouldn't be happy being sent home without at least an examination.

I have had similar symptoms intermittently throughout my pregnancy and my baby is hanging in there, but it's unfair to mention preterm labour then just send you home.
