Anybody have experience to help guide me on which to book as first time parents? I'm based in South London.

Thanks!

First time parents. Also South London. We’ve booked Bump and Baby over NCT but have no experience of either. Mainly booked bcos of preference for c section as birth option and NCT have a non medicalised ethos.

Bumping in the hope someone has some experience of Bump and Baby Club as there’s lots of NCT experiences on here and nothing much about the new kids on the block.

I've been doing bump&baby, 3 out of 5 sessions done. I'm a doctor so didn't really want to do NCT as I thought I'd find it frustrating. B&b has been great so far, would definitely recommend.

I’m in S London too and did nct with dd. We were very lucky to make some lifelong friends. Would absolutely do it again.

We're first time parents too, based in South East London. We've opted for Bump and Baby as it's evening based and spread over five sessions.

Our local NCT runs their course over two Saturdays and one evening. We thought the Saturday sessions could be information overload and there might be less time to socialise with the other parents.

It could be worth checking out what the sessions are like closest to you?

I don’t think many people do either course for the content, because that is freely available online or via your hospital. People do the courses for the social side of things and to make friends.

We've booked bump and baby (also SE London).

We chose them over NCT as I had a few questions about content and timing before we booked, which B&B answered far faster and with more detail.

Starting next month, so I've no ideas what it's actually like though!

Thanks everyone for the replies!

Having a look okay both of them, they seem to run in similar evenings across a similar time period. Bump & baby says they have up to 10 couples but NCT say 8 - I guess good in one respect to be more involved but also less couples to make friends with!

I'm leaning towards bump & baby probably but I'm sure we'd be happy with either (I think the fact it's in a beautiful wine bar may also be swaying my decision but I guess that might just be teasing for me while DP gets all the lovely wine!)Grin

@Peony99 please let me know how you get on! I don't think we need to rush into booking just yet but I suppose I'm likely to panic next month that it would get full and just go for it!
