So I’m 40+2 today and have just been to the midwife, she tried to do a sweep but couldn’t reach my cervix because she said it was very (!) posterior. She did say it was starting to efface but she couldn’t tell by how much and was unable to do the sweep. So I’m hoping for some reassurance from other people who had similar experiences. I’m worried about needing to be induced, something I really want to avoid if possible! 😊

Right there with you! 39+4 today, and have a sweep booked for the morning. No advice, just a hand hold because I'm beyond fed up now and I can imagine you are as well.

I’m 40+5 today. Declined a sweep yesterday but will accept one next week if no baby. I’m just telling myself that baby will come when they are ready. Relaxing as much as I can and enjoying this time before night feeds etc.
I had an induction with my first and I’d like to avoid it too but not thinking about it.

Hey, I’m 40+4 and had my midwife appt yesterday and was told I will only have a sweep at 41 weeks which is Sunday!

I’m quite relaxed in general but would also like to avoid induction too if I can! But same as Above, trying to go with the flow and with the Attitude of what will be will be! X

I had an attempted sweep with my first baby at 40+1, midwife couldn't reach my cervix as too posterior. Went in to labour that night and birthed at 40+2!

Sounds promising, good to know it can change quickly!! 😄

Due dates are such a guess anyway op, so I really wouldn't worry.

My baby came at 41 weeks naturally.

I'm sure you'll be fine. One thing that helped me was when the midwife saw me at 40 weeks and suggested induction, I got her to make a note of the date so that my fiancé knew but I didn't. That way I couldn't fixate and stress over the date!

How’s everyone doing today?? Day 5 overdue for me but trying to think ahead to my sweep Sunday in the hope it gets things going!! Really really achey and sore downstairs now 🤦🏽‍♀️ Xxx

Hunkyd0ry · 27/09/2019 09:09

I’m 40+6 today. Thought things were starting last night but they tailed off when I went to bed. Lots of bouncing on the ball and walking today I think!

Babycakes1989 · 27/09/2019 09:14

Yes that’s my plan too! I always get really crampy in my groin when I get off the ball though! Stupid question but how hard do you bounce on the ball!!? Xx

Hunkyd0ry · 27/09/2019 09:37

Not too much. Just gentle up and downs- I’m leaning forward too as then I feel it more. All fun and games!

Babycakes1989 · 27/09/2019 09:41

Thanks for the tips I give it a go 😂🤞🏻 Good luck!

Hunkyd0ry · 27/09/2019 09:47

Thanks. Good luck to you too.
Hope we are cuddling newborns soon!

ryanreynolds · 27/09/2019 09:49

Is it your first? I read that first babies come most often at 41+1 (can't remember where now as it was whilst I was overdue and googling like a maniac!!)

...DS arrived at 41+1 - was booked for an induction the next way and obviously the threat of it worked!

Hang in there, hope you all have babies soon!

Alyssum34456 · 27/09/2019 09:54

Some babies just aren't ready until 42 weeks. I keep putting my due date at least a week back as can feel this being me!

Hunkyd0ry · 27/09/2019 10:00

2nd for me. First was early! 🤷‍♀️

Babycakes1989 · 27/09/2019 10:05

First for me 🤭 a lot of friends have had babies at 41 weeks so hoping that’s the case here!! My due date was 22nd September but in my first 8 week scan they originally told me 28th. So me and OH are wondering if he comes tomorrow would be funny 😂 xxx

BB04 · 27/09/2019 10:42

Still the same here, lots of bouncing on the ball! I just tend to do gentle bounces or go round in a circle or figure of eight, or rock side to side. Have a sort of ache in the side of bum/hips, anyone else?

DS came naturally at 41+5, so 11 days late Confused the night before I was due to be induced. Each day overdue felt like a year, I know your pain!!
