So i’m 27 weeks & 5 days pregnant.. I’ve had a cold for the past few days but Monday night & Tuesday morning i woke up my bp was 132/74, I had a check up on Tuesday my doctor gave me antibiotics for my cold & just told me take it slow. Tuesday after i left i just kept feeling anxious & felt like something was wrong.. I couldn’t sleep at all i kept waking up & having high bp readings about 150s/70s.. Went in today for a check up my bp was only 131/78 so they sent me home & said that i was fine & my readings were probably wrong & that it should resolve within itself.. Nothing has gotten better since this morning & i just feel like something is off... Any thoughts?

If you're quietus, call your midwife, have a chat with her and she will signpost. Or call the local mat unit, they may get you in to check you over too.

I'm sure everything is ok, as Dr has said, but please call one of the above to ease your mind if you are worried, it's what they are there for, they would rather see you for nothing than you sit on a problem.

134/72 i not at all high, it's normal. Even 150/70 isn't really high.

Colds are horrible and debilitating but just keep your fluid levels up and you'll be fine in a couple of days. If you are seriously worried, see GP or midwife but so far that doesn't seem necessary.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, Laauren. You're going to have a lovely baby. We can't help catching colds and the like whilst pregnant but if we manage the symptoms carefully and conservatively, they are soon gone,
