Weight gain

I'm honestly shocked. I have gained 30 kgs in 30 weeks!!! I'm already starting to get worried about how I'll lose it all when the baby is here. I knew I had put on weight but didn't realise how much. Has anyone put on a bit more than they thought? Are you worried or ok about it?

Op have you spoken to your midwife for advice? I'm only 15 weeks and gained around 3.5lb but I'm overweight and have still lost weight some weeks. How is your weight usually?

@LighteningRidge I put on a lot of weight in my first pregnancy, around 3.5 stone, which is about what you have put on so far. Is it rather a lot... What is your weight usually like? If I’m honest I ate way too much and wasn’t in control of it, and now I’m still 1 stone over my pre pregnancy weight 2 years later. Maybe speak to your midwife? But I think you’ll just get told to be more mindful of what you are eating and try to stick to healthy snacks etc.

I feel like an actual hippo. But it’s my waist that has thickened right away and my boobs have gone enormous

It has really surprised me cos I heard second trimester was weight gain time but all mine went on in first trimester

I put on 3 stone and lost it by exercising and eating well while breastfeeding. It's doable!

I just realised that I have done my calculations wrong! I have actually put on 30lbs. Still not great but not as horrific. Hoping to curb any further non-baby weight over the next 10 weeks. The weight seems to have gone to my arms, legs and tummy (obviously). I'm wearing size 14-16 maternity clothes (I prefer loose fitting clothes) but usually wear a 12. Hopefully being even more mindful of what I eat from now will assist. I don't tend to binge eat or anything but before I was a constant dieter and I haven't done that since being pregnant as I have been so hungry. I will try cut down though as it is excessive even if it is 30lbs rather than kgs!

Op 30lb isn't anywhere near as bad lol 30kg would be about 70lb. I would just try and maintain where you are now by healthy eating in your last few weeks

I know it was a phew moment if only short lived! I honestly don't think I look like I have put on that much but scales don't lie. Weirdly I'm looking forward to getting back to normal once baby is here. I'm hoping I'll be so busy I'll forget to eat lol. My plan is to start batch cooking come mat leave so we have plenty of delicious healthy meals just a microwave away Grin

Good idea and I've read the average weight gain is between 27 and 35lb so you'll be fine 😊
