So I've got what I think is the start of a tooth infection no dentist open till tomorrow. Can I take a single 8/500mg cocodamol later on? I'm 34 weeks pregnant and still bf my 2 year old DS. If I time it right it'll have worn off when DS wake for a night feed. Plan to take it to help me sleep through the pain.

No idea about BF but I was prescribed 8/500 whilst pregnant so I'm presuming it's fine to take. I didn't take them though, because they made.me feel awful.

I was prescribed codeine in the latter stages of pregnancy for back pain but I would maybe check with 111.

However I'd be utterly astounded if one 8/500 cocodamol have any effect whatsoever on your pain, you'd be better off with a standard paracetamol dose.

Tried paracetamol and it's not touching it. Cocodamol make me sleepy so I'll hopefully just sleep through the pain untill morning

8mg of codeine is unlikely to make you sleepy though. Especially if you're in pain. It's an incredibly low dose, If you must then just take 2. Remember that you need to leave at least 4 hours between paracetamol doses.

And I assume you know you have name changed mid thread.

I took cocodamol regularly in later pregnancy.

Ohh wonder why it's done that. Wasnt supposed to even be the 1st name 😂

I was prescribed 30/500 but advised not to take it after I got to 30 weeks. But that's a higher dose than what you want to take... Maybe a pharmacist could advise?
