Hello ladies, I just found out I am 5 weeks pregnant after taking ellaone. I regret taking the pill without my husband's consent. I really want to keep the baby but I am scared that I may have done alot of damage already. Please I will like to hear from other mum's who took ellaone and still end up being pregnant. My mind is troubled. I really do regret my actions.

Try not to panic, I'm sure it will be fine, if it hasn't worked then surely it can't have had any effect on the pregnancy? I'm sure everything will be fine and there must be a million stories on the internet about morning after pill not working and baby being fine.

Congratulations Flowers

Congratulations and this is a daunting time.

Were you and your DH TTC or not? If you weren't TTC and had agreed your chosen contraception, then you weren't planning a pregnancy and you have nothing to worry about in terms of taking the MAP. The situation is what it is now and you need to talk to him.

If you were TTC and you've panicked and taken the MAP in secret then that's absolutely your right to have done that, but it's probably a conversation to have about your feelings at the time, how you feel now etc.

Given miscarriage is really common early on then I would have imagined you'd either have no pregnancy because it worked or a typical pregnancy because it didn't.

I fell pregnant despite taking the MAP - cant remember the brand name off the top of my head but taken within 2hrs of DTD. I also didn't even realise until I was 7 weeks gone and had drank alcohol etc! I was also intensely worried that I could have harmed the baby (like you as soon as i knew they was a baby I wanted her!). I was repeatedly by the midwives at the EPU and the consultants that the MAP can't harm the baby, all it does is prevent a pregnancy occurring but if it fails to do that it doesn't do anything. DD is now 3 and better than fine - a funny, smart, kind and genuinely delightful child. Please speak to a medical professional for some reassurance about this and congratulations Flowers

Thanks ladies.I am just coming from my doctors as they messaged me to come in and discuss my blood test. The blood results confirms that I am indeed pregnant.I will be having a conversation with hubby tonight. I am 42 with 4 children and we were not planning on having more kids. This took me by surprise.I am trying to be positive.
