Hi everyone, Iv noticed my baby is getting hiccups most days for past 3 days which feels like a flickering which lasts a good 10-20 mins, just wondering if any other mums to be have experienced this? And is it normal? Smile

Yes, completely normal. From experience with my own dc some are more hiccoughy than others. My mw with dc 3 said to pay attention to what time it happened most & that I’d likely find they did it at about the same time after birth. She was right (for that dc & the next 2), it’s still one of my most useless yet fun bits of information Grin

Thank you 😊 I read somewhere that it can be a warning sign of cord compression if baby is doing every day for more than 15 minutes that's what worries me a little. First time mummy worries lol

Yes I'm 26 weeks and my little girl likes a good hiccup I think lol xx

Both of mine were very hiccupy foetuses and also quite hiccupy once born for the first few months. I could see my stomach moving with them close to the end!

BusyDoingNothingx · 26/09/2019 00:43

Yes my baby had hiccups all the time! 🙈.
I also read about the cord problems associated with hiccuping and when I had a growth scan done the MW said it's not true and it's completely normal to hiccup.
My LB is 11 weeks now and still hiccups a lot.. 😂

DramaAlpaca · 26/09/2019 00:45

Very normal. DS1 had them a lot. I don't remember that my other two did.

Angelinthenightx · 26/09/2019 10:26

Im 33wks and had the same i used to just feel them where my babies head was but now ive felt it with my hand where her tummy is,i asked my midwife she said its normal at any stage and only to worry when i have bleeding or my baby moves less or more than normal.
I need to stay away from google sends me into worry mode.

DD was a very hiccuppy baby when growing. Still is now she's been born.

Everafter1 · 26/09/2019 10:45

Yes. Mines had the hiccups for a long long time when the mw had a listen in.

CoodleMoodle · 26/09/2019 10:53

Both of mine hiccuped nonstop when I was pregnant- now they're 5 & 1 and still get them most days. Last night they both got them at the same time and I wanted to cry (I hate the noise)!
