Hiya, I'm newly pregnant (5 weeks) and need to take time off for my booking appointment. How do I do this without telling them what it's for?! Please help!

Just say you need time off for a doctors appointment. You don't need to give them any detail as to what it's for. If they do ask why then say you'd rather not discuss it as it's personal. Don't worry, they won't suspect anything.

The only time you need to tell them is if they should refuse you the time off to go. They can't legally do that for maternity appointments, but they need to know you're pregnant in the first place to adhere to that one.

It's only natural! Don't apologise 🙂 Congrats on your pregnancy!
