Hello,

Any fellow mumsnetters been in the same boat?

So I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my 2nd had some heavy bleeding today bright red went to hospital did a scan baby is fine thank god seen heartbeat etc said that they can't see any reasons as to why I'm bleeding.

I'm still bleeding getting mild cramps too, just worried that it could be a slow miscarriage or is that not possible? Is it just one of those things? Obviously can't help but worry when I'm still bleeding.

Thanks in advance xx

I had a heavy bleed at 14 weeks with my first - cramps, clots etc. Never explained - I didn't even get scanned just dopplered - and it lasted two weeks. Everything turned out fine. Midwife said it's more common than you realise.

Fingers crossed everything is ok for you and baby. The fact you've been scanned and all looks ok is great news.

So sorry you're having such an anxious time.
Have they performed an internal examination to rule out your womb opening/cervix funnelling?

Sending you love and hope xx

I had a massive bleed at 14 weeks. Scanned all was fine. They said the cause was my placenta being low although they wouldn't normally have told me because it often moves by 20 week scan. I was told to rest up )no heavy lifting etc) they put me on the small gestational pathway (because of what was classed at a major bleed post 12 weeks) so had growth scans and things.

Baby is now a happy 14 month old!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one!

Not had an internal scan no I'm still bleeding today not as heavy but it's still heavyish and bright red it's just worrying isn't it but I'm sure everything fine Confused

Hello and sorry you're going through this. With my DD, who is now almost 3, I had bleeds throughout my pregnancy. This included two big red bleeds at 8 and14 weeks. I had regular scans, everything was fine and it was never fully explained. I actually continued to bleed on and off until 24 weeks. Anyway, it's horrible and stressful but it does happen and everything can be fine. Sending you hugs as I know how worrying it can be xxx

I'd say if you're still bleeding ask if they could do an internal examination, that would be my advice although chances are it is nothing to worry about xx

So will be two weeks on Monday since I've started bleeding.

They haven't done an internal I have been for another scan today they can't tell what it is causing the bleeding, I asked could if possibly be something to do with my cervix and they just said maybe?!

I feel like I'm loosing my mind do I just accept that im just going to bleed and that everything fine?

Have they measured your cervix via ultrasound?

Has anyone mentioned the words sub chorionic haematoma?

I had one with dd2. Bled every day for weeks. They can take a while to resolve and there are times you wonder how the hell anything survives what looks like a murder scene.

They can go either way but my sub chorionic haematoma auditioning for jaws every time I have a bath baby is currently nearly 9 years old.

My bleeding had no explanation whatsoever happened a couple times a week throughout my whole pregnancy with DS2. I won't lie not was really stressful and my mental health took a real dive.

As long as it wasn't heavy and accompanied by painful cramps / contractions they weren't that worried / bothered until after 24 weeks when I had to go in to be checked every time it happened. There was never a cause I've still no idea why
