Morning lovely MNers, hope you can all help me out with some advice. I’m currently 24 weeks suffering with extreme nausea since 8 weeks (I’m talking 24/7 nausea with very little vomiting, little appetite, zero energy etc) and I’ve worked through it all, the headaches, the heaving, the constant feeling like I need to be sick, the tiredness, everything, even when told to take it easy by the consultant and midwives at the hospital I’ve still worked, until today.
This morning i simply cannot function so I’ve called in sick, told my boss that I’m a bit run down (but that’s isn’t the half of it)
She knows all of the complications I’m having with this pregnancy so probably hasn’t come as a shock that I’ve called in.
But I’m feeling guilty for calling in, I also need to prove that my sickness is pregnancy related so I’m off to the docs this morning to see what they say.
Has anyone else been signed off for “pregnancy related illness” I never usually ever take a day sick I just usually wfh and work through it, but I’m at a point now where I can’t physically function properly to even drive to get into work.
I was prescribed cyclizine last month to help with the sickness but they make me so fuzzy headed that I haven’t been taking them in order to be able to go to work?
Am I being unreasonable if I ask doc to sign me off so I can take the meds to stop the sickness and help with the nausea? Can I ask the doc to sign me off with pregnancy related exhaustion?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
