Hi everyone I’m currently 18 and a half weeks pregnant and we found out we Are having a little girl. I had a scan two weeks ago and have one in two weeks time however I’m absolutely petrified that somethings gone wrong. Last few days I’ve been feeling her move, however she hasn’t moved today is this normal for being so early on in pregnancy. Has anyone had similar experiences. Thank you

First of all, congratulations! Lots of people get worried but it does sound like you’re more anxious than usual. I’d mention it to your midwife or gp, prenatal anxiety is a recognised condition and they should be supportive.

I think when my DS’s movements first started, I didn’t feel them every day. At least til he was 20 weeks or so. Can you try doing a bit of exercise, then drinking something sugar (maybe hot sweet tea, if you haven’t had much caffeine today) or a very cold drink? That used to wake DS up. If you still don’t feel any little twitches, try not to worry because it’s almost certainly that she’s just in a different position and she’s still very little at 18 weeks so isn’t bumping against the sides, so to speak. BUT in saying that I think it’s definitely still worth calling your delivery hospital team and seeing what they say, as they might want to bring you in for monitoring. They won’t mind you calling, that’s what they are there for.
