Hi, I’m 21+4 and for the last two weeks have been getting lots of flutters and movement. It is on and off (mostly at night), sometimes I don’t feel anything at all for hours and hours!
My question is (FTM) when does it begin to be proper full kicks and when you can feel the presence of baby inside you all the time? Obviously I’m not entirely sure what I’m asking here or what exactly will happen but if anyone could shed light that would be great, thanks!

Sorry OP I don't know the answer to this as I am only 15+2 with my first. But I did want to bump it as I am curious to know as well and also wanted to ask when the flutters begin? I'm really anxious to feel anything at all!

I'm 19+3 and haven't really felt anything definite. I have my scan tomorrow and I feel sick. I just want her to move around so I know shes there!

@Marshmallow1992 I am 22 weeks and have been feeling the odd movement since the middle of week 19. Some days it I feel a lot of movement, followed by some days where it's super minimal - like once or twice per day. Then it gets stronger again for a couple of days and then weaker again.

I called the midwives a couple of days ago and they said it's completely normal at this stage. As there is a lot of space for baby to move around still, it can be job positions where you won't feel it much - even more so if you have anterior placenta.

She said movements won't become regular until 26-28 weeks. That's when you can start to establish a pattern and will need to ring them if that pattern change. I know it's really difficult not to worry about it- I really do. But I'm trying to just relax into it. It is what it is and that's the official advice. Ring your midwife or maternity unit if you're worried ! You'll feel better.

@Marshmallow1992 sorry for the typos !

I felt movements from 16 weeks but confused the earlier ones for wind. After 20 weeks they became more noticeable but I didn’t really feel proper all out kicks until 24 weeks. The priority until 28 weeks is for you to ensure you feel movement everyday - after 28 weeks you then try to establish a pattern that differentiates kicks / rolls etc

Anyone feel flutters before 16 weeks?

ChrisPrattsFace · 23/09/2019 14:09

Do you mean ‘can you feel a baby’ all the time? I had flutters from 15 weeks but no obvious movements till 25.
I had an anterior placenta so had limited feelings/movements anyways... there was many days where for most of the day I wouldn’t even know there was a baby in there - until he kicked me!
Our pattern was that I could feel him twice a day - so for most of the day the only ‘feeling’ of being pregnant was the giant belly that got in the way!

ChrisPrattsFace · 23/09/2019 14:11

Oh and around 36 weeks when my bladder became a cushion...

VapeVamp12 · 23/09/2019 14:18

I think about 26-27 weeks I felt him everyday and fairly regularly. I'm 30 weeks now and feel him most in the evening / at night but the odd kick and swirl whilst i am work too

Thanks so much everyone for replies. I’ve had flutters from 19 weeks and can feel her move but it’s really on and off as I said. I won’t feel anything for 5/6 hours then get a few flutters in a row. @sadtoday21 I never felt a thing until in between 19/20 weeks. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to reply!
